London pro soccer red carded by Ontario's power blackout

By RYAN PYETTE -- London Free Press

The massive power blackout put the boot to the Canadian Professional Soccer League's London City-Toronto Croatia matchup last night at Cove Road Field.
"They can't guarantee us two hours of light," Harry Gauss, the London City general manager, said yesterday afternoon after scrapping the 8:30 p.m. kickoff.
"We can take our chances and play, but we decided against it. Rogers (Television) has enough power from generators to broadcast the game, but it could end up with them showing a black screen."
Gauss was waiting to hear from Croatia on a possible makeup date.
